I had the chance to revamp many of the celestial bodies in Kerbal Space Program. This was a challenging task, as I needed to update the appearance of the celestial bodies without altering their geometry and shape, as doing so would risk affecting the saved games of millions of players. I decided to focus on creating new textures to enhance the sharpness and definition of the celestial bodies when viewed from afar. Additionally, I worked on a new shader that would sample a normal map, which would then be scaled and rotated multiple times to maintain the texel density on the celestial bodies as players approached their surfaces.
